We recently remembered and shared good memories of our lives and friendships that grew deep. It was a celebration of “the golden days of yore” back when we were younger and enjoying family life.
Those of us older members of the congregation remember “fellowship groups” meeting regularly at the church, in one or another’s home or in planned activities. Out of these groups, friendship grew deeper, offering each other support whatever the days ahead might bring.
Those “fellowship groups” were places for sharing good memories and growing in gratitude, which turns what we “have into enough.”
We are happy to be in a congregation of Christ’s church that has such a wonderful group of children, youth, and young adults.
We are not wanting to take away from what is now offered, but just to add more opportunity for those of us who are retired and have more time on our hands to be blessed by: looking back on the good memories of our lives; laughing/crying; and enjoying the enrichment of our time together.
Retired adults interested in being part of a new First Christian fellowship group are invited to join.
